Once
upon a time
there was a girl named Cinderella who lived with her evil
stepmother and her two stepsisters.
"Sweep the floors!"
yelled the stepmother.
"Clean the washroom!" yelled her stepsister.
"Bring me my supper!" yelled
her other stepsister.
Cinderella
was always busy working for her stepmother. She was
very sad at her home.
"The prince is having
a party and everyone is invited, but
you are not allowed to go!" the stepmother told Cinderella.
Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters went to the
party, but Cinderella had to stay home and clean the
kitchen.
Suddenly, a fairtygodmother appeared and
said, "Cinderella, I will use my magic and you will
be able to go to the prince's party!"
The fairy godmother waved her magic
wand
and gave Cinderella a beautiful dress and a pair of beautiful
glass slippers.
The fairy
godmother waved her magic wand a second time and a horse and
carriageappeared
outside.
Then she waved her
magic wand a third time and the kitchen was clean.
"The magic will only work until 12 o'clock. You must be back
before midnight!" said the fairy godmother. "Now go and have fun!"
Cinderella got in to the carriage and went to the prince's castle.
Cinderella was the most beautiful girl at the party. The prince
saw her and fell in love with her.
Cinderella looked at the clock and it was almost midnight.
She ran out of the castle. In her rush, she left behind one
glass slipper. The prince found the glass slipper and said, "I will marry
the lady whose foot fits this slipper."
The guards went
to every house in the city, but nobody's foot fit the magic slipper.
Finally, they came to Cinderella's house.
"Uh! Ouch! I can't get my foot in the slipper," said one of
the stepsisters.
"My foot is too big," said the other stepsister.
"The shoe fits me perfectly!" announced
Cinderella.
Cinderella
told her stepsisters that she forgave them and that they should try
to love each other. She was then taken to the prince's castle where
she married the prince.
